Feather and Fan is a classic Shetland lace stitch that is also known as Old Shale. This simple lace pattern naturally forms a scalloped edge and produces waves of lacy fans. It provides excellent drape to a knitted item.The unique qualities of this stitch pattern makes it an ideal choice for projects where interesting edgings and lace fabric compliment the design such as afghans, baby blankets, socks and scarves.
